Support Troubleshooting Guide

Quick checks for common local print agent problems.

1) Agent Unreachable

  1. Confirm service is running from Start Menu tools or status script.
  2. Verify POS Agent URL is http://127.0.0.1:17888.
  3. If still failing, reinstall the latest installer.

2) Invalid API Key

  1. Open C:\ProgramData\EmralPOS\agent-config.json.
  2. Copy the exact apiKey value into POS settings.
  3. Save and test again.

3) Printer Not Found

  1. Confirm the printer is installed in Windows and online.
  2. Re-select printer in POS settings if printer name changed.
  3. For shared/network printers, verify service account access.

4) Timeouts

  1. Check local firewall rules for loopback and service binary.
  2. Review logs under C:\ProgramData\EmralPOS\logs\agent.log.
  3. Restart service and test with a small print job.

5) SmartScreen Warning

Installer is currently unsigned. Verify checksum from downloads before continuing.
